Seasoning is one the most important part of cooking. It can turn a bland tofu into a flavourful piece of heaven. I created a quick spice mix that will take you less than 1 minute to put together and it stores for weeks in any properly sealed off spice jar. This is my go to spice mix – it’s an amazing addition to any recipe. It has the right amount of sweetness and spice. All the spices are anti-inflammatory and great for the immune system.
Autumn is here with it comes the flu season so why not give your body a little boost by cooking with this quick spice mix. As with all my recipes, you can substitute the spices to fit your personal pallet or whatever spice you have in your spice drawer. Let’s dive in.
Quick Spice MixDifficulty: Easy
This is my go to spice mix. It’s incredibly versatile works with almost all of my recipes.
2 tsp of smoked paprika
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- Put all the spices mentioned above in a sealed spice jar, mix well and you are done!
- If you don’t have the spices mentioned above, experiment with whatever spices you have on hand.
You can use this spice mix on pretty much anything, here are my favourite ways to enjoy this mix:
- sweet potatoes
- any types of beans
- green beans
